GOOD LANDS ORGANIC ESTATES, CALIFORNIA GOLD COFFEE!
Friends and Fellow Lifeboaters, lend me your ears & your cups! We are very excited to share this with you.
Last year, we visited Simi Valley to inspect a new California Coffee Plantation in the heart of Avocado and Citris groves. What we found, was amazing! Turns out, 20-years ago, a pair of young scientists at Cal-Poly, using only grafting techniques and no DNA or GMO manipulation, were able to successfully grow COFFEE trees in CALIFORNIA!
Over more than a decade, they grafted and grew and grafted and grew some more until, about ten years ago, the first farmers were able to mass-produce coffee grown in the hills of Santa Barbara County and today, even points south.
The plantation we visited last year has three to four varieties of coffee and the trees take about three years to produce cherries, which are they picked by a co-op, washed, cleaned and dried... So, we have some time yet to buy those beans.
Nevertheless, we found another plantation, just to the north, in the Santa Barbara area, that has GREEN BEANS to sell! Very exciting! Cupping notes are forthcoming. The purpose of this email is to see if any of you are interested in taking this adventure, here are the details:
